In a landmark decision, the National Labor Relations Board has ruled in favor of student/athletes from Northwestern, in essence saying that college athletes at Northwestern were employees.

According to deadspin.com, the group was seeking, among other things, fully guaranteed scholarships and better medical protection for student athletes.
This sets the stage for a big battle ahead between the NCAA as is exists today and student-athletes as a whole.
