Team USA is moving on to the knockout stage of the World Cup despite a 1-nil loss to Germany in their final match play yesterday.  The Americans finished second in Group G but advanced on goal differential.  Team USA will now face Group H winner Belgium this Tuesday at 4pm, and you can listen to it live right here exclusively on ESPN 96.1. 

The Detroit Tigers successfully completed a three-game sweep of the Texas Rangers last night with a (6-0) shutout win in Arlington.  Pitcher Rick Porcello notched his tenth win of the season with a complete game effort, giving up just three hits while striking out six in nine innings.  Miguel Cabrera provided plenty of offense going 4-for-5 at the plate with an RBI.  Tonight, Detroit starts a three-game set with the Astros in Houston.  Justin Verlander gets the start for the Tigers and the Astros will send Brad Peacock to the mound.  First pitch is 8:10pm. 

The Detroit Pistons selected point guard Spencer Dinwiddie out of Colorado with the 38th overall pick last night in the NBA Draft.  His junior season with Colorado ended in January after he had surgery to repair an ACL tear in his knee.  The state of Michigan was well represented last night on stage as Nik Stauskas went #8 to Sacramento, MSU's Adreian Payne went #15 to Atlanta, Gary Harris was selected #19 by Chicago and then traded to Denver.  Also in the first round, U-M's Mitch McGary was selected #21 overall by Oklahoma City and Glenn Robinson III went in the 2nd. Rd. to Minnesota at #40. 

Lastly, the West Michigan Whitecaps fell to Lansing last night (7-6).  The Caps will now return home to Fifth-Third Ballpark tonight to take on the Bowling Green Hot's another Tigers Friday as former Tiger outfielder - Glenn Wilson will be in attendance and signing autographs!  Gates open at 6pm - First pitch is 7pm.
