The Detroit Lions will kickoff their final preseason game against the Bills in Buffalo tonight.  Kickoff is 7pm, and according to Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, don't expect to see the starters too much on the field tonight.  Detroit opens regular season play on Monday Night Football - September 8 when they host the New York Giants at Ford Field. 

The Tigers lost last night to Derek Jeter and the NY Yankees (8-4).  Starting pitcher David Price had a rough night allowing at one point 9 consecutive hits in the third inning.  Price took the loss, giving up 12 hits and a total of 8 runs while striking out three in just 2 innings of work.  In today's rubber match, Detroit sends Kyle Lobstein to the hill and Hiroki Kuroda gets the start for New York.  First pitch at Comerica Park is 1:08pm this afternoon. 

Also, Tigers starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez has been examined by orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who confirmed the initial diagnosis of a right pectoral strain.  Manager Brad Ausmus said surgery to repair the injury has not been discussed, and he also said that he hopes to have the pitcher back in the rotation before the end of the regular season. 

The West Michigan Whitecaps lost in Ft. Wayne last night (2-1) and will take on the Tincaps again tonight at 7:05pm.
