The Picks: Week 4

Kris - 2-5 Last Week, 9-12 Overall

Fongers - 4-3 Last Week, 12-9 Overall

Jim - 5-2 Last Week, 11-10 Overall

Drew - 5-2 Last Week, 15-6 Overall

#4 Penn State (3-0) -13 at Iowa (3-0)

There seems to be a true National Championship contender in College Station, PA this year, behind a heisman candidate in Saquon Barkley, and star quarterback play from Trace McSorley. However, going to Iowa, the Hawkeyes LOVE to play spoiler to good teams (See: 2016 Michigan). Look for this one to be closer on the field than it is on paper.

Miami (OH) (1-2) +1 at Central Michigan (2-1)

After a huge upset over a power 5 team in Kansas, Central looked incredibly flat last week against Syracuse. If this Chippewa team wants to get a good start in the MAC, the must beat the teams they should beat, and it starts this week.

Wagner (1-2, FCS) +34.5 at Western Michigan (1-2)

This game for Western isn’t about winning or losing, because it’s a guaranteed win for the Broncos. But, can they cover a five touchdown spread against an FCS team?

#8 Michigan (3-0) -10.5 at Purdue (2-1)

Purdue seems to be the most shocking team of the year so far. After losing a close game against a powerful offense in Louisville, the Boilermakers have come back and won two straight against Ohio and Missouri. Michigan’s offense is in the news for all the wrong reasons, starting at the struggles of Wilton Speight, and losing #1 wide receiver Tarik Black, likely for the year. The Wolverines join Penn State this week on upset alert.

Notre Dame (2-1) -3 at Michigan State (2-0)

In what may be a do or die game for Bryan Kelly, the Irish travel to East Lansing to take on the Spartans. But even with a chance of being fired, this may be a bigger game for the Spartans, and proving that they can survive and 3-9 season, and offseason turmoil.

Dallas (1-1) -3 at Arizona (1-1)

After being embarrassed last week against the Broncos, the Cowboys want to show it was just a fluke and come back strong on national television. The Cardinals, on the other hand, want to show they don’t need David Johnson to win games.

Atlanta (2-0) -3 at Detroit (2-0)

Two undefeated teams, and one of them is the Detroit Lions? I don’t think a lot of people expected the Lions to win ONE let alone both of their first two games. This Falcons team is coming off a dominating win against the Packers last week, but they have to travel on the road to a HOT Lions team, who play a huge game at home.
