Jerry Jones Kneels With Cowboys Before National Anthem

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys took a knee prior to the national anthem on Monday Night Football to show unity after President Donald Trump criticized players who took a knee during the national anthem.

Jones, and the entire team knelt down for about 5 seconds before standing with arms locked while Jordin Sparks sang The Star Spangled Banner. The Arizona Cardinal players and coaches stood with their arms locked as well.

On Friday night (September 22) the President harshly criticized NFL players who kneel during the playing of the national anthem calling for them to be fired. Trump doubled down on his comments the next day in a series of tweets. In protest of his comments and as a sign of unity hundreds of players took a knee during the anthem, while some teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers did not go onto the field until the national anthem had finished.
